GSS Color Challenge

For my FCCB Cricut Crawl "Back to School" click here
Happy Tuesday Bloggers!  I am here
today to show you a card I made for the
Ginger Snap Scraps Design Team
Color Chllenge.
Whew!
Our challenge was
Light Brown and Dark Red.

I used cardstock and Distress Ink
completely on this card.

Kraft cardstock for the base and mat.
Cream cardstock for everything else.
I used the following inks to color my poinsettia.

I then added a little Mustard Seed
Distress Stickles for a little bling.

The mat was cut from Spellbinders
Romantic Rectangles.  I think this might
end up to be one of my favorites.
The base layer was dry embossed with
a folder, but for the life of me I can't seem
to bring up that information from
my vastly compromised brain cells.  LOL

I appologize for the picture quality.
I went to bed really early last night
and forgot to set my post.
So I am having
to do this at work with what I have.

SHHHH....Don't tell on me...

The poinsettia was cut from
Joys of the Season.
I cut three and inked both sides
and then layered them for a 3D effect.

Here is a close up:

I hope you enjoy it and make sure to

DT sisters came up with for this challenge.

Don't forget to check out the

"Back to School" project at FCCB!

How fun is that?

For my project...

I made a file box for a teacher friend, who happens to follow my blog.  But, it's okay...
she has already snatched it up and taken
it to school.  LOL
Sorry, I don't have any other views to
show you.  Trust me it is a file box.
I found these at Goodwill.  I bought everyone
that they had at that store. If I can find
enough of them I will be conducting a
class with them.

Here is the rest of the story:

Letters - Plantin Schoolbook
Bus - Locker Talk
Patterned paper - DCWV
Paint, rick rack and pencils - my stash

Since this was such a hit at my local store while I was making it....I decided to give away one
of these undecorated boxes as my Blog Candy during this Cricut Crawl. I will throw in some paper to decorate it with too!

All you need to do is be a follower of my
blog and leave me a comment on this post with your contact information.

Back to School Blog Hop

Welcome to our Back To School Blog Hop
with the Ginger Snap Scraps Design Team!

This weekend we will be featuring projects
 all about Back To School.
Can you believe school has started?

I am so excited, because this is my youngest
childs senior year.  Woo Hoo!

We hope you enjoy all of the great work this Design Team has done and find some inspiration.

I made this little notebook for my friend, who happens to be the Counselor at my son's
high school.  She works hard all the time,
but especially his time of year.

I got these notebooks several years ago
from papertrey ink.  They also had a
template for the cover.  I like how it has a
pocket inside for cards or other things
you don't want to loose.  Since this is for
a high school teacher I decided to make
it with an older theme and not the
typical back to school things.  I doodled on it
just like I did in high school, while I was
trying not to fall asleep in class.  LOL
Supplies:
Bo Bunny Double Dot Cardstock
Bo Bunny Mistletoe Chevron
Bazzill Cardstock
Sharpie Fine marker
EK Success Notebook punch
Black Soot Distress Ink

I hope you enjoyed it!

Be sure to come back tomorrow to see
 Day 2 inspiration!

Gone Fishin'

Hello my Blogger friends!  Well, my youngest child started his senior year today.  I remember every first day of school for all three of my children.....and if I can't remember I have my trusty First Day of School scrapbook to remind me.  I just love to look back and see their expressions.  You know how they go from being excited to being annoyed that you have to take their picture. LOL

Enough reminiscing....I am starting to feel a little sad :(  My babies are now grown up!

For my Ginger Snap Scraps design team project today we are featuring fishing projects.  Now I personally do not like to fish.  I am just a little too girly.

My daughter suffers from the same affliction....my sons on the other hand are just like their Dad and fish every weekend the weather is agreeable.

Which makes it nice for us, we girls get to spend time together scrapping and shopping.  LOL

So here is a card I can use for many different occasions for any of the boys.

The fish was cut  from Camp Out
cricut cartridge.  And the tag card base was cut from Art Philosophy.  I use that cartridge
all the time.  It is well worth having.
I used patterned paper from
I hand cut the hook and used Mustard Seed Distress Stickles.

You can use several different sentiments like
To a "reel"y great guy!
I'm "hooked"on you!
Have a "reel"y nice day!
Best Fishes
 and so on and on.

So make sure to stop in at
and see what my wonderful friends have
created for you.

You can get the supplies you need for your creations here.

Talk with you soon.....Until then
be safe.....and create!

FCCB Olympic Challenge #124

Good Morning!!!

Did everyone enjoy the Olympics?  Now that it is over maybe I can get some work done in the evenings.

Over at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog we are honoring the Olympics with a challenge this week.

I know that bowling is not an Olympic sport, but it should be....LOL

My youngest son and his high school bowling team won the State Runner Up title in 2010-2011.

If you have never experienced a high school bowling tournament you are missing out on a lot of fun and excitement.

To commemorate this accomplishment here is what I came up with:

Recipe:

11 x 14 canvas
Custom patterened paper purchased online
Bo Bunny Mistletoe Chevron
Tim Holtz Black Soot Distress Ink
Bowling pins and balls cut from Nifty Fifties

We want to see your Olympic
inspired projects too!

Stop on over at FCCB and link them up.
While you are there check out the
rest of the design team's projects!

I will talk to you later this week...

Until then be safe....and create

Pretty Bird

Hello!!! I hope this finds everyone well.  I want to take this opportunity to thank my blogger friends and design team sisters for their thoughts and prayers.  I am fine...however, some of my friends and acquaintances have experienced great loss due to the wild fires.  Here in Oklahoma we are used to tornadoes, but the fires are new to us to the extend that we have experienced this summer.  Another good reason for fall to hurry up and get here!

Today is my day to post for Ginger Snap Scraps
and we are showing projects with birds.

Here is what I came up with:

All patterned paper is from October Afternoon Farmhouse collection.
I absolutely love October Afternoon!
Almost as much as Bo Bunny...LOL

Card base was cut from cream card stock with CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge.

I cut the letters from Bazzill card stock with
Cherry Limeade cartridge.

All of which I purchased from

The chipboard birds, crown and
crinkle ribbon are all from my stash.

Ok, to be perfectly honest, the crown
was in Vonda's stash but she gave it
to me to use on this card.

I hope you enjoyed it.  Make sure to stop
over at GSS blog and check out the rest
of the design team's bird creations.

Thanks for stopping by today.... I am getting ready for my big give away for reaching 150 followers.  Keep watching....

Everyone have a GREAT day!  Try to stay COOL!
