S'mores Anyone?

click here .....Ginger Snap Scraps post

I am so excited to be posting my project for Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog.  I pulled out something I haven't used in awhile.  Actually, I had to get some from one of my fellow scrappers while I was on retreat.  Why is it that you can take everything you think you could possibly need....and yet you still seem to need something else?  I needed vellum.  When this idea came to me I thought vellum would be perfect for the jar.
Did I bring any with me?
Of course not.  Thanks Doylene!

This weeks challenge is showing a camping project.  I personally have never been camping.
I know....don't laugh.  A huge joke around work is that my idea of camping is Motel 6.  LOL

So this is what I came up with.

Here's what I did:

Card base and arrows - Art Philosophy
Envelope and Liner - Wild Card
Fireflies and Jar - Stretch Your Imagination
Distress Ink - Gathered Twigs, Mustard Seed
and Black Soot
Patterned paper - Bo Bunny Camp-a-Lot
Card stock, twine and metallic pencil

Sentiment - K Andrews Designs Amazing You
Jar - Doylene's vellum

Don't forget to go check out the challenge this week at FCCB.  I know that the rest of the design team has created some great inspiration.
Thanks for stopping by!  See you later!

Until then......be safe and create

Cricut Day

Happy Monday again!  They just seem to come faster together, don't they?  I am home from a great weekend of scrapping with a group of my friends.  And since we only seem to remember to take pictures on Sunday when nobody has done their hair or makeup I will not be posting any of those pictures on the internet.  I would really like to keep my friends.  However, I will show you a picture from our deck.

Pretty nice, huh?  Too bad it was 110 degrees on the deck.  It kept us all inside under the A/C.

Okay, on to my Cricut Day post for

Here is what I used:

Trunk, sign and branches - Camp Out cartridge
Raccoon - Create a Critter cartridge

I love my new stamp set from K Andrew Designs.  Being a southern girl, I just had to have her Southern Sayings set.  I have grown up hearing all of the sayings on this set except one.

So glad you could stop by.  Make sure you stop by the Ginger Snap Scraps blog and take a look at what my DT sisters created.  And of course, do some shopping at Ginger Snap Scraps.  I will be back later today to announce the winner of the Winter Distress Inks!  Woo Hoo!

Until then.... be safe and create

Today is my day to feature My Favorite Things from Ginger Snap Scraps.  One of my absolute favorite things is Tim Holtz Distress Inks.  I have to make a confession, I have every color made.

Do you think maybe I need sort of therapy?  I promise I actually use them.  My wonderful son even made me a storage holder for them.  Right where I can get to them easily.

FCCB - Sunny Days #120

Hello, Hello! How is everyone this fine Monday morning?

Today I am posting for the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog.  This week's challenge is to make a project with a yellow sun.  I have to admit there are a lot of suns on the cartridges. It took me quite a while to decide which one to use.

I did end up using several cartridges for this card.

Here is the run down of the cartridges used:

Base and Frame - CTMH Art Philosophy
Sun - Just Because Cards
Clouds - Paper Dolls for Everyday
Grass and Branch - Gypsy Wanderings
Fence - Mini Monsters

I used several colors of Tim Holtz
Distressed Ink:

Background - Tumbled Glass
Clouds - Broken China
Sun - Ripe Persimmon
Grass - Mowed Lawn
Branch - Pine Needles
Flowers - Picked Raspberry
Fence - Gathered Twigs
Base - Mustard Seed

Whew!
All of the paper used was card stock,
except for the envelope.  I used a sheet of
October Afternoon Thrift Shop.

Thanks for checking in today.
Also, don't forget to head over to
see what the design team has cooked up.
You can link your sunny project
while you are there.
I look forward to seeing it.

Be safe...and create!

Graphic 45

Hello again friends!  I am very pleased to show you my design team project for Ginger Snap Scraps today.

You know sometimes while you are creating, things just seem to fall into place and all is right with the world.  Well, that is how this card came about. When you work with papers and media that you truly love and are inspired by is when you find your true artist underneath it all.

I have featured Graphic 45's Olde Curiosity Shoppe.

Additional Supplies used:

Kraft card stock - Ginger Snap Scraps
Grunge board - Tim Holtz
Summer Distress Inks - Ginger Snap Scraps
Stickles - Tim Holtz
Glitter - Martha Stewart
Flowers, Tulle, Ribbon and Pin from my stash

As usual, I hope you enjoyed it.  Check out the Ginger Snap Scraps Blog and and see what is going on over there!  You can also shop for the supplies you need to become your inner artist.

Talk to you soon and until then be safe and ......create!

I am also submitting this for the Tuesday Throwdown Challenge

3D Day!

Hello friends!

How is everyone today?  Are you ready to see some awesome 3D projects made from paper?
Well, here is mine.....

I used Bo Bunny Pedal Pushers for this cute little favor box.  This would be so adorable at a girl's birthday party.  Now imagine it done in different paper and color theme.  It could be used for all kinds of parties.  This particular box is cut from the Tags, Bags, Boxes and More cartridge. However, there are several other boxes available on other cartridges.

I hope this has inspired you to work outside of the box....pun intended.

Check out what the rest of the design team has come up with at the Ginger Snap Scraps Blog

I promise you will not be disappointed....talk to you later, until then be safe and create.

My Weenie Dog!

Hello Friends!

I am having a great time on my mini vacation!  And I am getting a lot done.  My creativity has been working overtime.  Look for more posts later for the projects that I have rolling around in my head.  Last  weekend I worked on wedding invites for a couple of friends of my son.  As soon as I get mine in the mail I will post it.  I was pleased with how they turned out, but more important so was the bride to be.

Today, I wanted to show you two canvases I made for my office.  I have the most adorable miniature dachshund named Oscar.  He is usually the focal point of my Christmas cards.  I wanted to create some art for my office and what better subject than my weenie.  We are great dog lovers at my office so they were very popular pieces.

Once I got started I knew I needed another piece to fill the space.

These are 16 x 20 canvases.  It really is an easy project, unfortunately you have to be a little patient.  I do not normally hold to that practice, patience I mean, but I survived.

Under normal circumstances you would use all of your scraps for this.  But, everyone that knows me knows I do not keep scraps.  I know, it goes against all things scrapbook sacred....LOL  They do get recycled to my cropping friends and they always LOVE them.

Anyway, I took all the red and blue patterned papers I had and tore them into pieces.  I then Mod Podged them to the canvas.  While it dried I cut the puppy and the bone on my cricut to make a stencil.  I painted the space around the shape out to about 2" from the  edge of the canvas.  Easy Peasy!

Now here is my subject.......

Talk to you later my friends!  Be Safe....and create!
