My Mind's Eye

Happy Friday Everybody!


I am pleased to post my very first project as a Design Team member for Ginger Snap Scraps.

This card base was cut with the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge.

I used the Meadowlark paper line from My Mind's Eye.  I just love the versatility of these patterns and colors.  You can use it for most any occasion and use any color as an accent.  Of course, I can't hardly make anything without my Tim Holtz Distress Ink.  I dug in my stash for a few bling, some cardboard hearts, a little rose ribbon and SHAZAM.... a card was born.

She Art part 2

Ok, here it is......my second attempt at She Art.  I think I like it.  I believe that it looks better in person than photographed.  I have so much fun doing these projects.  I think I might do just what one of my scrapping friends suggested and make one for every month of the year.  

With the suggestion of my above mentioned friend, I sprayed it with a fine coat of Spray & Sparkle.  It is satin varnish with a ultra fine glitter.  Made it look super cool!

Think of all the possibilities....again let me know what you think.

She Art.......my style

I am so excited to show you what I did tonight.  I have been seeing She Art projects all over the Internet and was very curious to try it.  So I gathered my supplies and headed to my crop....late because I was running around all day doing things for my son's Prom night.  Anyway,  I sat down and tried to remember what I had read and off I went with only minor teasing from the scrapbookers thinking I was off my rocker. Ha ha...I really had a great time and was already thinking of other things to work on tomorrow.

Easter Cards

Hello Peeps!!! I bet you thought I fell off the face of the Earth. LOL Well, I have no excuse except that life got in the way.  Some of you will find that particularly funny. 

Any who, I did attend a retreat two weekends ago at an awesome place call Bluebird Lane Scrapbooking and Craft Retreat.  You should check them out at http://bluebirdretreat.com/ located in Mounds/Liberty Mounds, OK.  I felt like I had gone to a resort and the food was delicious too! We all had a wonderful time.  While there I decided to work on some Easter Cards to hand out at my office.  Being the Bo Bunny fan that I am I brought all the new lines to work with.  Maybe it was the setting and maybe the company, but I became inspired and made the following cards.

All of them were made with either Country Garden

or Ambrosia and Double Dot Vintage.

These are beautiful paper lines.  If you have not seen them you must check them out at your local scrapbook store. I promise to make a better effort to blog more often. :)

Curly Christmas Tree

Hello....I know that I am in such a good mood today because the weather is wonderful.  Can you believe that it is September 7th already?  Christmas will be here before you know it. 

My dear sweet partner in card crime, Molly Martin and I designed this card for a mass produced Christmas Card class at A Memory to Scrap.  We used a different yet beautiful shade of green. It just happens to be my favorite color...Bazzill's Parakeet and the most fabulous glitter paper from Reminisce in Precious Jade. 

The cut is from Christmas cartridge and the embossing folder is from none other than the king himself Tim Holtz. You gotta love everything he puts out don't you?

It turned out extraordinary.  I don't know whether the picture shows it well enough or not, but we also embossed the edge of the envelope.  When you want to give your envelope a little extra something that will not affect it's mailing ability this is a creative solution.  For those of you wondering about the return address, you can put it on the back flap.  So there you have it.  I will check back in with you tomorrow.

A Splash of Color

Hello all!!!  Today's post is another challenge.  This one comes from www.fantabulouscricut.blogspot.com. We were challenged to use the color yellow on our project.   

When I think of yellow I think of summer.  And summer always brings fun, sun,  flowers and outdoors to my mind.  So that brings me to bees....
I know my train of thought is a little squirrely, but that is how I think. 

We were celebrating Judy's birthday today at A Memory to Scrap and I needed to make her a card.  Once again these challenges come in handy...I will make her a yellow bee birthday card.  And here it is...

I cut the bee from the Create a Critter cartridge and the flowers from Potpourri Basket.  I love the happy colors on this card.  I love to doodle on my projects.  If you are a perfectionist you have to get over the fact that doodling is not perfect, nor should it be.Perfect for a Happy B..day.

I am planning to work on another challenge tomorrow.  These things are great for getting things completed and giving you a little nudge ...Talk later.
