Happy Independence Day!!

Happy  4th!  I hope everyone had a fun and safe holiday.  Here in Oklahoma, we almost roasted.  I know we complain about the snow....and then we complain about the heat.  But really, do we ever get a middle of the road?

As I said in the last post I was getting ready to go on retreat at Camp Tulakogee.  I cannot begin to tell you how much fun we had.  No really..I can't tell you. I was sworn to secrecy and promised no pictures posted on Facebook.  However,  blogs did not enter into the conversationSo I have posted our group picture. The funny, crazy one, not the serious one.  Because I was told that a few of us, Betsy and I, looked like we were posing for mugshots.

These are some of the best friends a gal could ask for.  I can't wait to heft my self up to the top bunk to sleep on a piece of plywood again.  Not to mention having to get down in the morning.  Not really....I wouldn't change a thing.  However, we may need to deal with the spiders, huh Lydia and Jessica?

I actually did get quite a few projects finished last weekend in between the laughing and running to the bathroom from laughing.

I made this for a friend of my Aunt Jan.  The photo holds a special place in her heart.  Her husband carried this photo of them in his wallet for over forty years.  He passed away about 2 years ago and Aunt Jan asked if I could make something nice for her to put in her bedroom.  That way she could have it out to look at every day.

I put all of the flat design under the glass and added the dimensional embellishments to the outside of the glass.

Well, it has been a long weekend and I have to get up and go to work tomorrow. I will post more projects from the retreat this week.  I also have a layout class scheduled for July 12, 2:00 pm at A Memory to Scrap.  It is a really sweet springtime layout.  I will try and get pictures of it up this week.  Until next time be safe...and create.
